Reggie the LionKing's Rugby Football Club is one of the oldest rugby clubs in the world and traditionally one of the leading London University rugby clubs. King's College rugby team was part of the King's College hospital rugby team that was a forming member of the RFU. King's RFC plays in red and navy shirts, navy shorts and red socks. The emblem on the shirts is the College crest and features Reggie the lion, the club and College's mascot, whilst the club motto reads 'Sancte et Sapienter' (With Holiness and Wisdom). The annual Varsity fixture, against their closest rivals UCL, is one of the highlights of the London University sporting calendar. It takes place in March, at Richmond Athletic Ground, and attracts large crowds from both Colleges.
